Ella P. Seiple was born November 29, 1866 in Marshalltown, Iowa, daughter of Jacob H. Seiple and Angeline Woodring. She married Calvin Eugene Allen, born in Pennsylvania, on June 1, 1885 in Marshalltown. Daughter Pearl May Allen (my grandmother) was born September 13, 1885 in Marshalltown and daughter Florence Edna Allen was born August 12, 1891. Ella died in 1897 and, in the 1900 census, Pearl and Florence are living in the Women's Christian Assn Orphans Home, 2119 Tracey, Kansas City, MO. Florence died there in 1901.
