GLASGOW - Mary Jane Durrett, 88, of Glasgow, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.

Born in Metcalfe County, she was the daughter of the late Radford and Sally Grace Fansler Ballard. Her husband was the late Robert Durrett.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Durrett of Glasgow; one son, Roger Dale Durrett of New Albany, Ind.; a grandson David Durrett of Greenville, Ind.; two brothers, Edward Kyle Ballard and Radford Kenneth Ballard of Tompkinsville; and two sisters, Ruby Grace Hendershot of Chicago, Ill. and Helen Bernice Miller of Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Durrett; a brother, Donald Ray Ballard; and four sisters Delia Propes, Ada Odell Norris, Macy Alene Shoopman, and Geneva Evelyn Ballard.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Elizabeth, Ind. Arrangements are under the direction of the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home.
