FROSTBURG - Irene Louise Loar, 89, of Frostburg Heights Apartments, Frostburg, formerly of Lonaconing, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at WMHS-Braddock Campus, Cumberland.

Born Aug. 21, 1918, in Keyser, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Kelley Williamson and Grace (Van Meter) Williamson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Loar, on Nov. 2, 2002; one sister, Eloise Dawson; two brothers, Harold and John Williamson; a son-in-law, Harold Raymond Snyder Sr.; and one grandson, Harold Raymond Snyder Jr.

She was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Lonaconing, and the AARP.

She is survived by three daughters, Lois J. Snyder, of Chester, Mary McKenzie and husband Ed, of Frostburg, and Joyce Golden, of Carlisle, Pa.; one son, Harold Loar and wife Lucy, of Roanoke, Va.; a special son-in-law, Bill McElvie, of Bel Air; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Erma Armentrout, of Keyser, W.Va., and Clara Beatty, of Keyser, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A. (eichhorn-mckenziefh.com), Midland on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lonaconing, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating. Mrs. Loar will be taken to the church one hour prior to service.

Interment will be held at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.
