Baker

The funeral of Mrs. Samuel Baker, of whose death, mention was made in last week's Journal, was held from the residence of W. E. Baker, Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Baker was born in Aroria [sic], Ind., September 21, 1837, and was 73 years, 3 months and 15 days old at the time of her death. She died in Wichita, Kansas, Thursday, January 5, 1911. Her husband, Samuel Baker and son Fred, and daughter, Mrs. Harry Newfer, accompanied the body here.

Mrs. and Mr. C. W. Baker, of Stafford, came to attend the funeral. To C. W. Baker, the journey was doubly sad from the fact that he had just returned home from Moberly, Mo., where a brother, Harvey Baker, who had died the Tuesday of the same week was buried.

Two others sons, with those mentioned above, W. L. and Everett Baker of Dodge City, comprise the family.

In the residence of the family in Dodge City, Mrs. Baker won a host of friends who join in sympathy with the family in its sad bereavement.
