Information for KATHLEEN SIMPSON ADKINS came primarily from the family records of Nora Adkins Anderson and Bessie Adkins Blakely and the 1930 Census of El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. At the time of the 1930 Census, Kathleen Adkins, Billie Adkins, and Jessie Earl Adkins were living on Glenwood Drive in El Paso with Willie C. and Catherine Simpson. (Willie C. Simpson was born about 1878 in Texas and at the time of the 1930 census was a paper company printer. Catherine Simpson, his wife, was born about 1881 in Texas). The 1930 Census indicated Kathleen's marital status as "married" and her occupation was a "beauty parlor operator." The 1930 census of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, listed Earl R. W. Adkins (Roscoe Adkins) and his wife, Mabel I. M. Adkins.

No marriage record nor divorce record has been found for Roscoe and Kathleen Simpson Adkins. He and Kathleen were married during the 8-10 year period, when Roscoe lived in South America. When he returned home to Texas, he met Mabel Lewis and their relationship developed. It is possible he and Kathleen may have never been legally divorced.

Children of Roscoe and Kathleen Simpson Adkins: Bill Simpson Adkins, 1917-2003; and Jesse Earl Adkins, 1920-1987.

Dale (Louis Delano) Adkins (son of Roscoe and Mabel Adkins) visited Kathleen at her home in Lewisville, Texas, in the 1970's.
