Betty J. VanSickel, 77, Altoona, passed away Friday at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Lionel and Sadie (Saunders) Barclay. She married Donald L. VanSickel Sr. on Dec. 15, 1956, and he died Jan. 6, 2009.
Surviving are three children: Terri Lynn, Donald L. Jr. and Vincent F., all of Altoona; five grandchildren: Brooke, Todd, Dustin, Jaime and Matt; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Eleanor Pellegrino of Altoona and Carole Caporuscio in California.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann; and three brothers: Frank, William and Richard.
Betty attended Altoona High School and retired from Tritex Sportswear as a machine operator. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona, Pastor Dave Huston officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
