Robert E. "Bob" Drake, 84, a long-time resident of Roscoe, TX, died February 4, 2013, in Sweetwater, TX, with family by his side.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at McCoy Funeral Chapel of Memories, 401 E. 3rd Street, Sweetwater, TX 79556 with burial at Sweetwater Cemetery. Pastor Chester McCown will officiate.

Bob was born on September 27, 1928, in Midland, TX, the 2nd child to Frank and Arrie Drake. His three siblings preceded him in death, Bill Drake, Frankie Blair, and Joan Moore.

He graduated from Midland High School and attended Austin State College in Sherman, TX, and served in the U.S. Army and the Texas National Guard. He married Lanelle Calvert, April 21, 1952, in Midland, TX, and together they established their home in 1958 in Roscoe, TX. Bob worked and retired from Lone Star Cement Plant after 40 years of service.

Bob spent his spare time helping raise his three sons and instilled and energized life values to them and his grandchildren, and enjoyed their many activities. He loved hunting arrowheads, history, traveling, outdoor cooking and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife Lanelle Drake of Roscoe; his children, John & Janet Drake of Oklahoma City, OK, Rob & Rosa Drake of Menard, TX, and David and Connie Drake of Lake Whitney, TX; his grandchildren Bobby Drake, Jay Drake, Dustin Drake, Rebecca Drake, Josh Drake, Dan Drake, and Jesus Villarreal and his great-grandchildren, Darbee, Dax, Davis, Makenna and Aubrey. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Frank Moore and sister-in-law Barbara Drake.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Raughton, Charles Ratliff and Jack Cox.

The family suggests memorials be to Sweetwater Healthcare Center, 1600 Josephine St., Sweetwater, TX 79556 and West Texas Rehab, 4601 Hartford St Abilene, TX 79605 or your favorite charity.
