Hampton Wade Howell, a son of Evan Howell and the former Harriet Hines Owens.

Husband of Cynthia Knox, a daughter of William Knox and Margaret [Patton] Knox originally from Pendleton, South Carolina. They had one son, Clark Forsythe Howell.

Served in Company E, 22nd Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry, known as "Warsaw Rebels" and rose to the rank of Captain.

Member of the Duluth Methodist for over fifty-four years and was laid to rest in the churchyard cemetery of this church.
