He married Sarah Alcock about 1660 daughter of John and Elizabeth Alcock. During the King Philip's War John became a Lieutenant in the Militia.
Sarah outlived him by 20 years. June 1702 she married Henry Herrick being his second wife. Sarah died 29 DEC 1711 at Gloucester, MA.
John and Sarah had 10 children: George 1664 - after 1734, Elizabeth ca 1666 - 15 SEP 1725, Jane ca 1668 - unk, Sarah 1672 - 10 OCT 1722, John 1675 - 13 NOV 1742, Job 1677 - 27 FEB 1708, Lt. Solomon ca 1679 - 26 JUN 1748, Joshua 1681 - OCT 1716, Thomas 19 MAY 1683 - 3 SEP 1754 and Mary 1686 - unk.
