LITTLE GIRL VICTIM OF RUNAWAY ACCIDENT
Daughter of Carl Edin Killed When Team Takes Fright at Passing Automobile

As the result of a runaway accident on Main St, Camrose on Saturday afternoon, Ida Margaret, thirteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Edin was instantly killed.

Mr. Edin was engaged in moving furniture from the residence on Thompson St. to a house across the C.P.R. track. He was proceeding with a heavy load on Main St. opposite the Canadian Club building when a passing automobile frightened the horses. The noise of the shifting furniture made matters worse and Mr. Edin was unable to keep the team from running away although he bravely clung to the wagon and held on to the lines. The little daughter, who was on the load at the time, was thrown to the ground and died a few moments after being picked up.

The funeral was held in the Swedish Baptist Church on Monday, Rev. T.O. Wold preaching the sermon. Eight girls, friends and school mates of the deceased, acted as pall bearers. Many sympathizing friends in Camrose attended the funeral service.

The runaway team was so badly hurt that it was found necessary to shoot one of the horses. Mr. Edin does not attach blame to anyone for the accident as he says that the driver of the auto probably never knew what happened after he had passed. An inquest was not considered necessary.
