Enlisted on 5/3/1862, he was mustered into "H" Co. GA 14th Infantry as a Private.
He was Killed In Action in the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, VA.

The 14th Infantry Regiment was organized by Colonel A.V. Brumby during the spring of 1861 with men recruited in Jasper, Johnson, Pierce, Dougherty, and Worth counties.
