Millard County Progress, 8/25/1939. JOSEPH FRANKLIN HOLBROOK DIES IN FILLMORE. Joseph Franklin Holbrook, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Rhoda Holbrook, in Fillmore, Aug. 22, 1939. The deceased was born August 25, 1873, in Fillmore, the son of Joseph Hyrum and Rhoda Johnson Holbrook. The cause of death was uremia. He had been ill for several weeks, and only arrived here a few days ago, in accordance with his wish to come to see his mother and brothers and sister. He married Nancy Burt of Beaver, and with her had made his home in Metropolis, Elko County, Nevada, for some time. Funeral services are being held in the Fillmore Ward this morning at 10 a.m. after which the body will be taken to Beaver for burial. Services will also be held there at 3 o'clock.

Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, Burt, a daughter, Geane, two granddaughters, twins; his mother, Mrs. Rhoda Holbook; two brothers, Grantley and Conrad and one sister, Mrs. Mary Allen. Both of his children, his daughter-in-law and granddaughters arrived here Wednesday from Nevada.
