A funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Petersburg Methodist Church for Mrs. Rebecca Shobe, 74, wife of William Jennings Bryan Shobe, who died Friday at Grant Memorial Hospital where she admitted following a stroke on Wednesday. Rev John Bird officiated and interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Born in Pendleton County, Mrs Shobe was the daughter of the late James and Mary Hedrick Kimble. She had resided in Petersburg 45 years and was a member of the local Methodist Church. Surviving, besides her husband are two sons, Lester and James Shobe, both of Petersburg; a brother, Ras Kimble, Moundville and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Kimble and Mrs. Authur Kimble.
