She obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and her master’s degree from Oregon State University. She taught at Albany High School from 1959 to 1974. She was a member of Albany United Presbyterian Church, Albany Senior Center, Eastern Star, Amaranth, American Association of University Women and Oregon Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil, whom she married in 1932. Survivors include her son, Richard of Albany; daughter, Kathleen Brinegar of Monmouth; brother, Orlo Palmer of Mount Angel; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
