Doris Selena Hundley Dixon Gregory Clark
June 3, 1927 - January 31, 2013

Doris Selena Hundley Dixon Gregory Clark, wife of Richard Clark, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 31, 2013 after an extended illness at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
Doris was born on June 3, 1927, the daughter of the late George Andrew Hundley and Hester Morris Hundley. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her three brothers, Ralph, Ernest "Joe", and Fred, and one sister, Louise Hundley Reynolds.
She was an outstanding and popular student at George Washington High School where she was also elected Homecoming Queen. After graduation she started working as a telephone operator and worked her way up to become the first female telephone company manager in the state of Virginia.
Doris was married to Fletcher "Jed" Mathew Dixon, Jr. who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Dixon, her son Mark Jeffrey Dixon and wife Lynn Ann, and their son Jeffrey "Jed" Edward Dixon.
She was married to Colonel Samuel Stone Gregory, Jr. who preceded her in death. She is survived by her step children, Helen Wise-Schmidt and husband John, Mary Gregory Riddle and husband Bill, Sallie Gregory, S. Stone Gregory, III and wife Dee Dee, John Martin Gregory and wife Mary Bennett Gregory, and their children and grandchildren.
Doris was an active member of North Main Baptist Church where she was a substitute Sunday School teacher, Tuscorora Country Club, Danville Bridge Club, and The Telephone Pioneers.
In 2000 she married Richard Yeatts Clark and is survived by him, his daughter Susan of Mision Viejo, CA, and son Jeffrey of Newport, RI.
Funeral Services will be held at North Main Baptist Church on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 3:00 PM with the Reverend Fred Unger officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at North Main Baptist Church on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM before the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Clark family.
