William Harvey Lego, 87, of Road 275W died at 12:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mr. Lego retired from COSCO in 1984, after 37 years of service in the sales department. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he had been an elder, a deacon and a Sunday school teacher of the men's class and the seventh-grade boys. He was also a member of the former Optimist Club, and a Republican precinct committeeman. He attended Butler University.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Greg Tatum officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Legacy of Faith Fund or to the American Diabetes Association.

Born in Jackson, Ohio, Feb. 21, 1917, Mr. Lego was the son of Arthur and Laura Wells Lego. He married Peggy Ann Mizer, May 29, 1958.

Survivors include his wife; sons, William King Lego of Indianapolis and Tom Lego of Columbus; a daughter, Lori Lego of Yardley, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arthur Wells Lego.

The funeral for William Harvey Lego, 87, of Road 275W was Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Greg Tatum officiating. Dan Wallace was organist, Tom Lego was eulogist, Delaney Lego read scripture and Madelyn Lego was soloist.

Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers were James L. Brown, Steve Brown, Steve Moir, Milo Smith, James Foulke and Jon Reynolds.

Mr. Lego died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
