Marion (Mantine) Barthold Abbott Hayden Aug. 12, 1903 ~ Aug. 17, 2009 Resident of Walnut Creek The San Francisco native attended and graduated from Miss Burke's School. After her marriage to James Sturgis Abbott, they lived in San Francisco for eight years before moving to Piedmont, where they built two homes. They also had a cabin at Lake Tahoe and a home in Palm Desert. She was a member of ThunderBird Country Club, East Bay Opera League, President of Mothers' Club of Tri Delta Society, Women's Athletic Club, Piedmont Community Church, and after moving to Rossmoor, belonged to Golden State Club, Hawaiian Club, Quarter Century Club, and Sportsmen Club. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Pierce of Fresno, stepson Clifford Hayden, niece Brenda Megna, nephew Aubin Barthold, niece Jane Severns and husband Jim, grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. No service by her request; buried at Oakmont Memorial Park; memorials to charity of your choice.
