Married to Patty Andrews, lead singer and youngest member of the Andrew Sisters.Melvin Walter Weschler, who was affectionately called "Wally" by his wife, Patty Andrews was a successful pianist who worked with singers Johnny Mercer, Gerry Mulligan, Mel Torme & the Meltones, Billy Eckstein, Ernest Tubb and The Andrew Sisters. In 1945 he was the pianist for the Andrews Sisters and married the group's lead singer, Patty Andrews on December 25, 1951. Walt was the second husband of Patty. Walt encouraged Patty to seek a solo career and became her manager. This eventually resulted in the break up of the Andrews Sisters. He and his wife, Patty have celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage and have resided in their Northridge residence since 1978
