Carole Jean "Trudy" Willyerd Youngblood Gilchrist, age 75, of Mena, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Mena Regional Health System. She was born on Monday, September 6, 1937 to Floyd and Blanche Willyerd in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Trudy was a native of Hatfield, and Miss Polk County 1956. After having lived in Australia for a number of years, she returned to Mena to enjoy the beautiful mountains, and quiet country living.

Trudy is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Skip Youngblood; two brothers, Wayne and Mickey Willyerd; and three sisters, Beatrice Plebst, Miriam Bushart and Faye Rountree.

She is survived by two sons, Kenny Youngblood of Columbus, Georgia, and Darryl Youngblood of Texarkana, Texas; three daughters, Thomeen Womack of California, Susan Youngblood of Memphis, Tennessee and Joy Youngblood of Carrollton, Texas; one brother, Jim Willyerd of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
