Ringgold, LA - A memorial service for Retired Master Sergeant, Jere Wayne Bice, 63 will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at Open Range Fellowship in Greenwood, LA. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm. The Patriot Guard Riders and Run for the Wall Riders will then escort Jere to the Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA.
Jere was born September 23, 1949, in Shreveport, LA to Rose and William C. Bice. He passed away suddenly December 11, 2012, at his home in Ringgold, LA. Jere was retired from the Texas Army National Guard.
Jere enjoyed working in his shop and riding his motor cycles. He rode from California to the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC on several occasions and he rode with the Patriot Guard Riders ensuring a patriotic and reverent burial for other veterans.
Jere is survived by Florence Bice of Houston, TX; his sisters Sherri Berlin of Pineville, LA and Marsha Dunn and her husband, Lonnie of Shreveport, LA; five nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind "man's best friend", Sam.
Memorials can be made to the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, LA or to Wounded Warriors. No flowers please.
