He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church and a former member of Salem Baptist Church where he had served as chairman of the Deacons and helped to build the church. He worked in construction as a superintendent for 39 plus years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his good sense of humor, he enjoyed horse trading, woodwork, fishing, and hunting and was called by his friends and coworkers ‘Storming Norman and Little Man'.
He was preceded in death by several siblings. Survivors are his wife of 59 plus years, Louise Heyward of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Norman Curtis Heyward Jr. and Loresa of Rome, GA and Stephen Walter Heyward and Laura of McDonough; grandchildren, Devin Hill, Richie Heyward, Morgan Heyward and Jamie Heyward; sister, Joyce Keeney of Covington; brother, Morris Heyward of Evans, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment at Haisten/Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough.
