Carl Doerman [sic] was born in Cedar county, Iowa in 1878, and when he was. about eleven years of age his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Doerman, moved to a farm near Hartley. Mr. Doerman has spent most of his life in the vicinity of Hartley excepting a few years spent on a stock farm near Ocheyedan and three years near Correctionville. He had just got a good start, farming, for himself when his life was cut short so tragically.

He leaves to mourn him five brothers and four sisters, two sisters having died some time previous. Funeral services were held from his brother's, home Wednesday. He was laid to rest in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Rev Fischer officiating.

The whole community was shocked and saddened by the-news of this ac­cident and the relatives of Mr. Doer­man have the sympathy of all.
