Silas Luther Bibbins married Adelia Ann "Delia" Wheatstone on July 24 1849 in Troy N.Y.

Silas was a Farmer Labor from 1850-1880 per cenus. He was a Salesman for Holcomb Bros. He sold Windmills and pumps.

Silas was in the Civil War being a Pvt. 22nd WI Vol regiment, Co B. Enlisted 8-14-1862 pvt, discharge 6-12-1865 cpl. Silas got overheated and debilitated during march from Cincinnati to Danville Ky and was confined to the Danville hospital 12-1862 where his brother Adney died 1-1863 from a disease.
Silas was captured 3-1863 at Brentwood Sta. TN and exchanged 5-1863. Received a pension for partial disability because of a long term impact of his illness.

Silas has heart and kidney problems.

Silas was an early pionerr of Newark Township in Wisconsin moving there from New York in about 1854 and then moved to Beloit, Wisconsin a few years later. Silas had a farm in the outskirts of Beloit, Wisconsin.

Silas and Adelia had 7 children. They Eugene M.,Charles Henry, Fred, Mary A., Lydia S., Lorey L., and Louis Harvey Bibbins.
