William Henry Batchelor married 21 March 1923 in Cheyenne, Roger Mills Co., Oklahoma, USA, to Willie Anna Bowman daughter of Noah Irvin Bowman and Minnie Bell Wall. Willie and William had four children: Fannie Bell, Lonnie Irvin, Charles Billy, and Roberta Batchelor.

William Henry Batchelor was born January 21, 1901 in Johnson County, Kansas to Lonzo Jonathan and Fannie Corene Batchelor and passed from this life Saturday, September 15, 1984 in the Cheyenne Convalescent Home following an extended illness.
Bill came to Woodward County, Oklahoma in 1902 with his parents in a covered wagon. In November 1910 they moved to a farm in the Grimes area.
Mr. Batchelor and Willie Anna Bowman were united in marriage near Dempsey, Oklahoma. Bill was one of the last "Old time cowboys". He enjoyed western music and wide open spaces which is the reason he chose western Oklahoma as his home. He truly believed that a man's word was his bond.
He served three terms as Roger Mills County Sheriff from 1953-1958. Due to failing health Bill was forced into an early retirement, but he never complained. His favorite comment was "I never felt better in my life."
He was involved in ranching and had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1951. They made their home in Cheyenne.
Preceding Mr. Batchelor in death were his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Willie of the home, 2 daughters, Fannie Bell Gray of Westminister, California; Roberta Franklin Bonds of Sayre, Oklahoma; 2 sons, Lonnie Ervin Batchelor of Manchester, New Hampshire; Charles Billy Batchelor of Cheyenne; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Irma Haven of Reydon, Oklahoma, other relatvies and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 16, 1984 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with Aubrey Cowan officiating.
Graveside rites, in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma were conducted by the Reydon Masonic Lodge.
Pallbearers were James R. Robertson, Ervie Porter, Joe Follis, Spec Lester, Charlie Bowers and Dewey Daughtery.
Arrangement were under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Serivce of Cheyenne.
