Lydia Bales was born the 14th of 6th mo 1808, a daughter of John and Rachel (Hunt) Bales. Her family came to Indiana about 1829, settling first near White Lick Friends Meeting, but later becoming charter members when Mill Creek Friend Meeting was set off. She married 2 Nov 1833 in Hendricks County, IN, Jesse Osborn. She was the mother of five children: John, Achsah, Allen, Miriam, and Anna. Only Miriam lived to adulthood. Lydia Bales Osborn died the 13th of 6th mo 1892.
