Funeral services for W.M. "Bill" Copeland, a former superintendent of schools at Fort Cobb, were held Monday morning at the Wilson Funeral home in El Reno.
Copeland died Thursday from a severe heart attack at his home in San Jose, Calif.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma and a member of the Masonic lodge, he had lived at Lookeba before moving to Fort Cobb. He then lived at Geary and Kingfisher before moving to California.
He and his wife, the former Edythe Nixon, of Anadarko, also a teacher, had moved to San Jose from northern California.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. James Garvey of San Jose and Mrs. William Dutton, West Covina, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Foster of El Reno, Mrs. Jim Griffith of Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. A.B. Summers, Shreveport, La.
