She was born January 11, 1921 in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Albert Baker and Selema Broach Baker.
Ethel was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and playing with her grandchildren. Her family remembers her as a very loving woman.
She is survived by two sons: William Ray Taylor and wife Doris of Mt. Pleasant and Tony Allen Taylor and wife Debra of James Island; daughter-in-law Gwen Taylor of Vinton, VA and 5 grandchildren: Bo Taylor, Jenny Taylor, and Will Taylor all of Mt. Pleasant, Tony Allen Taylor Jr. and wife Julie, of Charleston, SC and Ryan Taylor of Charlotte, NC and one-great grandson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Boman Taylor Jr.; one son: Samuel Boman Taylor III; three brothers: Lester Baker and Elvin Baker, Heyward Baker and a sister Blanch Baker.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, January 29, 2013, at the mausoleum in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ken Lee will officiate.
