Raymond Leon Blackwell was born in Whitesboro, Texas on July 4, 1920. His parents are Elizabeth Mae Hames, who was born December 25, 1897 in Wolfe City, TX, and who Died on May 13, 1994 in Longview, TX and Leon Blackwell (known to have used an E as his middle initial, but it wasn't official and it didn't stand for anything as Leon didn't have a middle name) who was born on June 18, 1900 in Fannin CO, TX and who died on October 10, 1959 in Sherman, TX (both Elizabeth and Leon are buried in Sherman TX). Raymond listed in the US Army Air Corps in 1939 and was stationed in England during WWII where he met and married Joan Catherall (b: January 9, 1921 in Bolton, England d: December 17, 2004 in Laguna Woods, CA) on December 18, 1943. After the war, the couple lived in Texas and Oklahoma before settling in southern California, where they raised 5 children: Christopher Ray Blackwell, Kevin Lee Blackwell, Linda Jo Blackwell (also White) Jantz, Susan Elizabeth Blackwell (also Hobbs) Grover, and Jill Marie Blackwell Hoel. Raymond was a Plastics Technician who last worked for McDonnell Douglas. He died at home in his sleep on January 18, 1999.
Raymond's Grandparents were John Henry Blackwell and Amanda Emogene Rebecca 'Emma' Robnett Blackwell. His Great Grandparents were James Franklin Blackwell and Nancy Caroline Petty Blackwell.
