J. E. "Cowboy" Kirtley, 93, Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, son of the late James Kirtley and Dora A. Lawson Kirtley, was born in Breckenridge County, Jan. 4, 1898. He died at 4:15 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, 1991, in Louisville after an illness. He was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War I. Kirtley is survived by one son, J. E. Kirtley, Jr., Longwood, Fla.; one granddaughter, Mitzi Peterson, Orlando, Fla.; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. The funeral was at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with Dr. J. Chester Badgett officiating. Burial was in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full military honors by Taylor County Chapter #70 Disabled American Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers were E.
