A.W. (Al) Redmon, 71, 706 Weber Drive, acting manager of Muncie Elks Club, died early Wednesday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born in Wheeling, W.Va., and later lived in Greensburg, Ind., prior to moving to Anderson, where he resided for several years. He also lived in Fort Wayne for a brief time before coming to Muncie in 1950. He served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Redmon was a member of Elks Lodge 245 and Moose Lodge 33. For 14 years he was manager of the Elks Lodge and prior to his death was acting manager. He was formerly manager of Executive Lounge and Green Hills Country Club.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Russell Redmon; two sons, Bruce Redmon and Rod Russell, both of Muncie; three sisters, Mrs. Analee Dotson, Anderson, Mrs. Elizabeth Wisehart, Shirley, and Mrs. Pearl Smith, Sandusky; his brother, Robert Redmon, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be in Meeks Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Dan Mattox, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Friends may call at the mortuary from 6-9 p.m. Thursday and any time before the services Friday. Elks Lodge 245 will conduct memorial services at the mortuary at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
