Bettie (Cecil) Badgett was the daughter of Thomas Washington "Wash" and Rosella (Riney) Cecil.

She married Thomas Marion "Bud" Badgett, 1854-1923, on Feb. 7, 1902 at St. Rose Church, near Springfield, KY. Rev. Fr. William Quinn officiated and the witnesses were J. E. Higdon and Mattie Cecil. When Bettie married Bud he was the widower of Mary Priscilla (Ozbourne) Badgett, 1857-1898. They had no children but she became step-mother to his six children.

Bettie's death and burial do not appear in St. Rose Parish Register IV because there is a lapse in the record from 1910-1927. However her death certificate #17623 says she was born Dec. 8, 1854 to Wash and Rosie (Riney) Cecil. She died June 8, 1913 in Voting Precinct #9, in Springfield, Washington County, KY, of Hemiflegia, from which she had suffered for eight months and 18 days according to her physician Dr. M. W. Hyatt, Springfield, KY. She was aged 58 years, seven months and eight days. The informant for this record was T. P. Badgett, Lebanon, KY. She was buried in St. Rose Cemetery on June 9, 1913.

Bettie shares a tombstone with her husband, his other two wives and his daughter, Kate in the East Central Section, in Row 16, stone #8.
