He was a career employee of the Navy Department retiring in 1978 after 38 years service. He worked his way up from apprentice machinist to Industrial Specialist. He taught me to play golf and bowl and was a good Dad to me. He was very generous and loved his wife (my mom) Mary dearly.They were best friends. He also was very outgoing and played a good game of poker.He mowed his own lawn up until age 81.
