Julius, son of James Alford, was born in September, 1717. St Peters Register, New Kent Co, VA, pages 61-80. James is believed to be the son of John Alford whose memorial page is #125334522). Julius married Lucy, 1745, in, then, Edgecombe County, North Carolina. She was born about 1720 . In 1754, he was a North Carolina militiaman. On June 1, 1754, he purchased 200 acres of land, on the Tar River, from his brother, Lodwick. Julius filed his will in St. John's Parish, of then, Bute (now Franklin County), July, 1768.

The old Alford homestead was located in Franklin County, NC around the Crooked Creek-Tar River area. Julius lived and is believed to be buried there.
