In 1915 he began homesteading a prairie farm on the Ft. Peck Indian Reservation in Poplar, Montana. His brother, Arthur, and sister, Amy, and Amy's husband, Gustav Umlauf worked the same Homestead.
By 1930 he was living in Graysville, TN where his family had moved from Kentucky. About 1936 he moved to Centerville, Mississippi where a farm owned by his father was deeded to him in order to settle a debt owed him for money he'd previously loaned his father.
About 1955 he moved to Louisiana where he spent his last days with Clyde Coble, his nephew from his brother, John Thomas Coble.
Albert married while in Montana having one daughter. That marriage ended soon after in divorce.
