Mrs. Emeline Adams was born in Ludlow, Vermont, January 23, 1842. She came West with her parents in 1856, and located in Union, where she made her home for many years before moving to Evansville. She married Mr. Caleb Snashall in November, 1866. He was a prominent hardware dealer and died in 1904.

Mrs. Snashall like her husband, was a prominent member of the Baptist Church. As long as the present edifice stands it will be part memorial to these devout persons whose work abides.

Mrs. Snashall was a charter member of the Literary and Afternoon Clubs of this city. She was the mother of three sons--Dr. Claude Snashall, of our city; Dr. Bert, of Delavan, and Arthur, of Long Beach, California. Besides these, two sister survive her, Mrs. Mary Lockwood, of Ludlow, Vermont, and Mrs. Ellen Bingham, of Sioux City, Iowa.

Mrs. Snashall was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a consistent Christian, a friend of a wide circle of acquaintances. It might be said of her "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. She rests from her labors, but her works do follow her."

The funeral service was held at the home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, Dr. William P. Pearce, her pastor, officiating. The remains were placed beside those of her husband in Evansville cemetery.
