Dorothy Glynn Lowe Meriwether, 82, of Eagle Rock, Missouri formerly of Wentworth, Missouri departed this life suddenly on Saturday morning, December 29, 2012 while visiting her son in Wentworth.

Dorothy entered this life on September 3, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma born to the late Oscar Virgil and Elsie Mae (Adams) Owen. Dorothy resided in the state of California for a few years with her family before moving to a farm in the Granby, Missouri area. On June 24, 1950 she was united in marriage to Herbert E. Lowe, Jr. and to this union three sons and one daughter were born. Throughout her life she was a hardworking and devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She was a member of the Van Buren Baptist Church, the Wentworth Friendly Neighbors Club, Rebekah Lodge, Pierce City Senior Center and was a Red Hat Lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Herbert E. Lowe, Jr. on October 27, 2003; and a brother, Harry Roberts.

On June 6, 2010 she married Albert Meriwether and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include three sons, Ron Lowe and wife, Lynn, of Monett, Missouri and Jerry and Rick Lowe both of Wentworth, Missouri; a daughter, Glenda Lowe Barchak and husband, Frank, of Crane, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirlee Newlan of Neosho, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Meriwether are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the VanBuren Baptist Church near Wentworth, Missouri with Bro. Jody Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the VanBuren Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
