Louis E. Hummer passed away peacefully after several years of declining health. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Margaret, sons; Steve (Alice), Greg (Sydney) and daughter Martha (Gary) Gomes, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father Leon Hummer, mother Mary Leona (Hinchey), brothers; Earl, Howard and sister Mary Agnes Wilkenson.

He was born in Tiffin, Ohio and graduated in 1949 from Bowling Green State University. He also served in the Navy from 1943-1945. He moved his family to California in 1953 and settled in the San Diego area and worked in the newspaper business, writing his own column on automotive trends. In 1964 he settled in the Concord area where he worked in automotive sales and financing for a number of Bay Area dealerships.

A private family service and a memorial will be held at a later date.
