Steven Douglas Burrows, son of John R. Burrows & Electa (DeVol) Burrows, husband of Emeline Celica (Payne) Burrows . (she is buried in the state of Washington). Steven was born in Ohio, but lived on his farm a few miles south of Uniontown (Bourbon Co) KS most of his adult life. He was a carpenter by trade, in addition to farming. He and Emeline had the following children: Lewis N. , Harriet Afaretta, Douglas B., Sarah Elizabeth, Lucie J., Amanda Amelia, Rose, John Henry, Susanna, Samuel Drury, Mary Isabel, Charles Marcus, & Cleva Lorene. There were a set of twins (Electa & James L.) who were apparently born premature, and are also buried in the Mason Cemetery.

Steven was actually married prior to his marriage to Emeline, however she (Charlotte) died shortly after the marriage, from Cholera. Charlotte is buried near Steven's parents, in the Tick Ridge (Burrows) cemetery, located in Ohio.

The ancestry of Steven's mother (Electa Devol) can be traced back to two individual passengers who came from England in 1620 (Frances Cooke & George Soule) on the Mayflower.
