Funeral of Mr. Edin
Carl F. Edin, who lived south of Svea, met with an untimely death last Friday. He went to remove a bull which was staked out on pasturage to another grazing ground, when the animal suddenly jumped on him and so badly bruised him that death followed a few hours later. Mr. Edin was born in Sweden in 1850 and came to this country in 1882, and has since resided there. On account of some reverses he sustained in Sweden, he came to Dakota without any financial means, but through his energy and hard work he has so managed his affairs that at the time of his death he was in good circumstances. As he was very generous and of a sympathetic disposition, his assistance was often solicited by those in need, and he was always ready to help. Many times when nobody else would answer in supplication for aid he thought it was his duty to help and he did so. He has done many noble acts in his life, and his memory will not soon fade, but will be cherished and dept fresh by those who were fortunate enough to form a close acquaintance with him and learned to know his readiness to do good to all men.
He leaves a wife and son to mourn his loss. The funeral service was conducted last Sunday by Rev. Gullstrom and a large concourse of friends paid their respects to the dead.
