By request of the family of the deceased, I record the death of our aged brother, James A. Mills. Bro. Mills was born May 19, 1814, was married to Betsy McAfee in the year 1833, and obeyed the gospel in the year 1847 and lived a consistent Christian life to the day of his death, which was the last day of the year 1888. The first day of January 1889, he was laid to rest in the family graveyard by his companion in life. Bro. Mills was a kind husband, a loving father, a good neighbor, and above all a consistent Christian. To the bereaved family I would say, sorrow not as others who have no hope, for if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, them which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
