Funeral services for Ada Eliason of Morris will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Morris, MN. Reverend Paul Erdal will be officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Ada Esther Wellman, daughter of George and Olga (Kottke) Wellman, was born September 1, 1920 in Framnas Township in Stevens County, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended rural country schools. Ada was baptized on September 26, 1920 by Pastor Henry Hoppe and confirmed on May 19, 1935 by Pastor Hempeck at St. Paul's Church in Morris. On March 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Selmar "Sam" Eliason. Following their marriage, the couple farmed until the fall of 1948, when they moved into Morris. After several years of working in cafes, retail stores and cooking at Pomme De Terra Club, Ada purchased a café and named it "Ada's Snack Shop. She later sold the shop and purchased the Ernst Shop. When her health began to fail, she sold the store and she and Sam enjoyed taking a few trips. Ada was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Morris, where she taught Sunday school, visited the shut-ins and was chairman of the Senior Ministry Committee.

Ada died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris. She lived to reach the age of 92 years.

She is survived by her only son, Dennis (Darlene) Eliason of San Jose, CA; nine grandchildren and their spouses; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Janet Bergherr; great-great-grandson, Mason Maternowsky brother, Lester Wellman; sister, Mildred Jordon; sister-in-law, Myrtle Wellman; niece, Liane Raasch and nephew, Delbert Jordan.
