Pauline "Paula" Reeves Nozero, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Las Vegas Jan. 19, 2013, after a short illness. She was born March 17, 1925, in Summit, Miss., to Moses Robert Reeves and Mabel Huffman Reeves. She was raised on a farm in rural Mississippi with her two brothers, Moses Robert Jr. and William, and her sister, Fay. She had many adventures and wonderful stories to tell about her childhood. After graduating from high school, Paula attended Memphis Baptist Hospital Nursing School, leaving just prior to graduation to marry a young soldier from Detroit, Peter J. Nozero. The couple returned to Detroit and started a family. Paula was the most astounding mother and homemaker. She should have had a dozen children, and was totally devoted to her two daughters, Victoria and Elizabeth. The family moved to California in 1956. After Peter retired from TRW, the couple bought and operated an RV park next door to Disneyland for 17 years. It was extremely hard work, 24/7, but they made many good friends and enjoyed it. In 1994, Pete and Paula retired to Las Vegas to join their daughter, Elizabeth and beloved granddaughter, Alexandra. Their daughter, Victoria, arrived in 1995, and their family was complete again. Paula was a sweet and loving person who easily made friends and who always put the well-being of others first. Her hobby was making baby blankets and she shared them with friends around the country. She loved seeing pictures of babies wrapped up in her blankets! Paula was preceded in death by Peter J. Nozero, her beloved husband of more than 50 years; a son, Michael Peter Nozero; her parents; and her brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Victoria and Elizabeth Nozero; her granddaughter, Alexandra Catalano, all of Las Vegas; her sister, Fay Reeves Atwood of Spring, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her "adopted" children and grandchildren across the country. She was much loved and will be remembered always. Memorial services for Paula will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation , Las Vegas.
