Thomas (Tom) Gordon Harper, 72, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was born on September 21, 1940, in Carroll County, GA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Eunice Harper of Douglasville; stepson, Ethan Hawke of Covington; and grandson, Scott Price. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Louise; stepdaughters, Liz (Dan) Garrison of Senoia, Betty McElwaney of Riverdale, Jo Ann (David) Hanson of Stockbridge, and Esther (Steve) Burdette of Monticello; grandchildren, Bonnie Miller, Blake Smith, Angie McElwaney, Kim Myers, Brian Stephens, Chris Garrard, Lindsay Brooke Edwards and Shane Hanson, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, uncle and cousins.
Funeral services held Saturday, January 26 in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, Jonesboro. Interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
