Charles Presson

Charles A. Presson, age 90, passed away Thursday, November 18, 1965 at 11:00 P.M. at his home, 307 N. Kirkendall, East Prairie after an illness of three years.

He was born August 4, 1875 in Tennessee, the son of the late John M. and Louise Hale Presson. He had lived in Mississippi County for the past 85 years where he was engaged in farming until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Oneness Pentecostal Church of East Prairie.

In 1895 he was married to Elgie M. Carter, who preceded in death in 1954. Surviving are: three sons; Harvey and Charles of East Prairie, and Johnny of Chicago, Ill., four daughters, Loraine Presson of East Prairie, Mrs. Ruby Adams of East Prairie, Mrs. Nellie Bryant of Morehouse, Mo., and Dorothy Presson of East Prairie, one sister; Mrs. Callie Buckman of Clarksville, Ark., two brothers and three sisters have preceded in death.

The body lay in state at the McMikle Funeral Home in East Prairie where funeral services were conducted in the McMikle Chapel, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Billy Butler officiating. Interment is in Dogwood Cemetery. McMikle Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
