• PERRY - Philip (Phil) Valencia, 72, passed . away on Wednesday, May 07, 2008.
He was born on December 3, 1935 in Grand Junction, Colorado, a son of Joe B. Valencia and Rose Ida Santisteven.
Phil married Opal Petersen on April 9, 1956.
He worked at Thiokol and then Defense Depot Ogden until he retired in 1994.
His love was his family, playing music and his dogs. He was very handy and talented at any project he pursued; woodworking, cement work, farming and landscaping. He also loved remodeling his home and working in his yard.
Phil played with various Bands. He was especially proud of his last group which consisted of him playing bass guitar with his left hand, the keyboard organ with his right hand, and a tambourine on his foot. His drummer played the mouth organ and they both would sing; five piece band with only two men.
Surviving is his wife, Opal, four children, AdreAna Allen, Brigham City; Evone Butterfield, Twin Falls, ID; Nadene (Kenn) Rawlings, West Jordan; Tharon Valencia, Brigham City; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters from California, Ann Barraza, Della Maldonado and Lisa Chavez.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Bonneville Dialysis Center and Legacy Healthcare and Hospice.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 12 Noon at the Brigham City Cemetery, 300 East 300 South.
