Geraldine (Geri) Byington was born on July 31, 1943 to John A. Knutson and Alicia Lake and died suddenly on January 20, 2013 in Pocatello Idaho. Geraldine was born in Wendell, Idaho but moved to Pocatello in 1951.

She graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1961, but spent the first two and one-half years at Pocatello High and considered herself a graduate of Poky High.

She met Ronald Byington in Lava Hot Springs and the two married on October 27, 1961 and they had one son. After Ron died in 1964 she moved to Pocatello where lived for the rest of her life.

Geri worked for Lamb Weston for many years and gained many lifelong friends. Geri loved to camp and her two grandchildren (Dustin and Sarah) where her favorite camping partners. Geri loved her family and spent much of her time with them including playing her favorite game, Chicken Foot.

Up until an illness later in life Geri loved to read and crocheting. Geri was very active in Civitan's for many years.

Geri was preceded in death by Ronald (Husband), Mother and Father, and three siblings (John Knutson, Olene Knutson and DeVonna Die.

She is survived by her son, Mori (Charlene) Byington, Brother Lester Knutson, grandson Dustin (Kristine) Byington and granddaughter, Sarah Byington.

Visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to funeral. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
