Elizabeth was buried in the original San Marcos cemetery but was disinterred and re-interred in the "new" city cemetery in 1958, I believe, to make way for the the "new" library. She and a few others were reburied in the same spot in the new city cemetery and their markers were shoved together. They were supposed to get separate graves according to the legal papers that were filed that permitted the moving of the bodies, but that doesn't appear to be what happened. I have attached two photos of her grave. The slab is on the ground but it may have been upright at one time. Maybe not. It's pretty large. The scan looks pretty faint, but the stone on the right is Elizabeth's. It has an embossed design of two clasped hands and has the words - In Memory of Elizabeth Jewell Our Mother in Heaven Died April 3, 1871 Aged 64 Years We Part Here to Meet There
