Capitola was the daughter of George and Sarah Snoots Geller, and step-daughter of Samuel Harress. She was the second wife of Charles Stotts, who predeceased her. They had no children. Capitola was survived by her brother Willis Geller, two nieces and two nephews, and many cousins.
Capitola was born during her parents stay in Iowa, but lived most of her life in Adamsville, where she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
