He was born September 4, 1917 in Fort Wayne a son of Albert L. and Golda M. (Steward) Deininger. He attended St. Peters Catholic School.
On March 9, 1942 he was inducted in the Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged December 7, 1945.
On September 13, 1947 he was united in marriage to Wanda I. Lepley.
He retired from Prentice Products Co. in 1981.
His memberships included St. Jude's Catholic Church, Allen County Geneological Society, Whitley County Geneological Society and Indiana Historical Society.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Wanda; three children, Paul Joseph (Sharon) Deininger of Indianapolis, Rita Deininger of Elkhart and Gregory J. Deininger of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Wendy Kouma; a great granddaughter, Marie Kouma; a sister and a brother, Loretta Meinzen and Eugene Deininger, both of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers, Marcella Bobay, Gertrude Deininger, Helen Heiman, Anna Linzky, Mary Margaret Conrad, Lucille Wheeler, Joseph Deininger (an infant), Richard Deininger, Albert Deininger and Lawrence Deininger.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley with visitation after 11 a.m. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
