William B Archie, 73, of Lorain, died Wednseday at St Joseph Hospital and Health Center after a five-day illness.
Born in Raceland, KY, he came to Lorain in 1948.
In the 1930s he worked with the civilian branch of the Army (CB's)
For 30 years he worked as a helper in the blacksmith shop at US Steel Cor (USX) Lorain, retiring in 1978
Mr Archie was a member of United Steelworkers Local 1104 and Golden Agers.
Sruvivors include his wife, Dora (nee Gumbert to whom he was married 46 years; sons, Bill of Orange County, CA and Charles of Lorain; duaghters, Mrs. Shirl (Patricia) Reynolds of Lorain, and Mrs. Charles (Peggy) Howard of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren; a brother, Norman W Jr of Raceland; and sisters, Ethel Nance of New Boston, OH Mrs Walter (Maude) Gumbert of FL and Mrs Herman (Ruth) Brown of Franklin, Furnace, OH
